Swedish power metal trio Evermore have unveiled a new lyric video for “The Illusionist (Raise The Curtain)”, the first single from their upcoming album Mournbraid, due out March 20 via Scarlet Records.

“The Illusionist (Raise The Curtain)” is a dark, theatrical meditation on deception and manipulation. Framed through the metaphor of a fading stage magician, the song explores the hollow existence of a social manipulator whose “cheap tricks and shallow illusions” eventually fail. As trust dissolves and relationships fall away, the spotlight reveals nothing but emptiness, a powerful allegory for betrayal, ego, and isolation.
Musically, the track showcases Evermore’s signature blend of aggressive riffs, soaring vocals, and epic melodic hooks, wrapped in a massive modern production. The lyric video was created by Stefano Mastronicola, with striking artwork by Alvaro Valverde / AV Art Ilustracion (Elvenking, Unanimated, Verikalpa).
Mournbraid was produced by Marcus “Mackan” Alfsson at MWC Studios and mastered by Svante Forsbäck at Chartmakers West. The album will be released in the following formats:
