Belgian thrash and heavy metal band EVIL INVADERS have returned with “Dreamstate (Single Version),” their first new music since the release of Shattering Reflection in 2022. The standalone single arrives alongside a cinematic official music video.
Opening with a tense, anticipatory introduction, “Dreamstate” quickly erupts into a barrage of pounding drums, roaring guitars and Joe Van Audenhove’s dynamic vocals. Lyrically, the track explores the mental toll of stress, sensory overload and the relentless pace of modern life.
“‘Dreamstate’ is about overwhelming stress and how our mind deals with it,” Van Audenhove explains. “In a world where there’s no time for rest or any peace of mind, we lay awake at night and rejoin the rat race by day.”
The vocalist describes the song as a reflection on pushing past the body’s warnings while constantly multitasking, eventually reaching a point where everyday life begins to feel disconnected from the present.
The accompanying video was conceived by Jens De Vos of Panda Productions, who deliberately moved away from rapid editing and frantic camera movement in favor of a more cinematic approach.
“It resulted in a video that feels like you’re watching a movie more so than a music video,” Van Audenhove says. The band also emphasized that no AI was used to create the video’s special effects, with the production relying entirely on work created by the video team.
“Dreamstate” follows a busy year on the road for EVIL INVADERS, including touring alongside Dirkschneider and Sepultura. The band is already looking ahead to 2027 with two European co-headlining runs.
Beginning February 25 in Karlsruhe, EVIL INVADERS will join HEATHEN and Exhorder for the Triple Thrash Alliance Tour across continental Europe, with WARFIELD appearing as special guests. The run includes stops throughout Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Switzerland and France.
EVIL INVADERS and HEATHEN will then continue together for the Double Thrash Alliance UK Tour, beginning March 23 in Bristol and hitting Birmingham, Glasgow and Manchester before concluding March 27 at The Underworld in London.
The band has also confirmed that additional new music is on the way.
