EXTINCTION A.D. unleash crushing cover of ALICE COOPER’s “Feed My Frankenstein” for Halloween

Long Island crossover thrash band EXTINCTION A.D. are getting into the Halloween spirit with a ferocious cover of ALICE COOPER’s classic anthem, “Feed My Frankenstein.” The track is available now on digital streaming platforms alongside an official lyric video, delivering a monstrous dose of thrash metal and hardcore aggression just in time for the spooky season.

Originally released by ALICE COOPER in 1991 and famously featured in the 1992 comedy Wayne’s World, “Feed My Frankenstein” receives a modern, heavier treatment from EXTINCTION A.D., who inject their signature combination of crushing riffs, aggressive vocals, and relentless energy into the theatrical hard rock classic.

The cover marks the ninth installment in the band’s ambitious 2026 campaign to release one new single every month.

Frontman and guitarist Rick Jimenez explains how the idea evolved from years of joking about covering the song while traveling together:

“I’m sure every band has spent hours in the van BS-ing about, ‘wouldn’t it be cool if we covered THIS song?’ Anytime we’ve done that, ‘Feed My Frankenstein’ would come up half as a gag. We all grew up with and love the movie Wayne’s World that this song appears in and the placement of it in that movie is rad.”

Jimenez continues:

“Once this ‘one single a month’ idea came up, we knew we wanted to do a cover for October in the spirit of Halloween and we jumped at making this the choice after years of joking about it.”

While maintaining the recognizable keyboards and theatrical atmosphere of the original, EXTINCTION A.D. push the guitars and vocals into considerably heavier territory.

“Adding a bit of our flavor to this song with the heaviness of the guitars and my spin vocally, while adding the keyboards in a faithful way was absolutely ridiculous and super fun,” Jimenez adds. “So much of what we do musically is deadly serious so it was enjoyable to do something purely lighthearted.”

A year of relentless new music

The Halloween release continues EXTINCTION A.D.’s ongoing monthly singles campaign, which has seen the band consistently deliver new material throughout 2026.

The previously released tracks include “Escape From L.I.,” “They Live, They Die,” “Center Of Zero,” “Truth and Consequences” featuring INCENDIARY’s Brian Audley, “Thaw,” “Dead Men Running,” “Blood Hoax,” and “Insomnia.”

Together, the nine singles showcase the band’s continued evolution, combining the speed and precision of classic thrash metal with the intensity of New York hardcore.

More than a decade into their career, EXTINCTION A.D. remain committed to pushing their sound forward while maintaining the uncompromising aggression that established their reputation in the underground metal scene.

Bridging thrash metal and hardcore

Formed in Long Island, New York, in 2013 by musicians emerging from the hardcore outfit THIS IS HELL, EXTINCTION A.D. have developed a distinctive sound rooted in the explosive intersection of 1980s thrash metal, 1990s extreme metal, and New York hardcore.

Known for their energetic live performances, socially charged lyrics, and relentless work ethic, the band has built a reputation for delivering punishing crossover metal without sacrificing musical precision or intensity.

With previous releases through labels including Good Fight Music and Unique Leader Records, EXTINCTION A.D. have steadily expanded their presence in the modern metal landscape.

Their latest cover of “Feed My Frankenstein” offers a rare lighthearted moment from a band typically focused on heavier subject matter, proving that even the most aggressive crossover thrash musicians can have some fun with a Halloween classic.
