Texas progressive metalcore band FERVENCE will release their new full-length album, Constructs, on October 16th via Metal Blade Records. The newly signed band has also unveiled the album’s first single, “Zenith,” alongside an accompanying music video.
Drawing inspiration from bands including Deftones, Architects, and Silent Planet, FERVENCE blend atmospheric textures and melody with aggressive metalcore, moving between moments of heaviness and vulnerability.
FERVENCE originally formed in Reno, Nevada in 2019 as a solo project from guitarist Trent Odneal. The project released its debut album, Ghost, in 2020 before reemerging in 2023 with vocalist Stevie B. The band subsequently toured the West Coast, sharing stages with acts including Otep, Left To Suffer, and Gideon, while releasing the four singles that would eventually comprise the Realm//One EP.
Now based in Austin, Texas, FERVENCE spent much of 2025 developing what would become Constructs. The eleven-track record explores deeply personal themes surrounding life, death, relationships, and emotion while expanding the band’s combination of progressive metalcore and atmospheric songwriting.
According to Odneal, the writing process placed a greater emphasis on giving the vocals room to explore melody while focusing on composition, mood, song structure, and larger choruses.
“As we have grown together and individually, so have our views on existence and the concepts discussed,” Odneal explains. “Constructs is a refinement of our ability to convey some of these thoughts in a more generally relatable way, while also adding a bit more insight on other tangential topics.”
Lead single “Zenith” tackles the emotional weight of prolonged health struggles and the feeling of being trapped within one’s own body.
“The lyrics were inspired by the feelings of hopelessness and depression that come with prolonged health struggles,” Stevie explains. “Dealing with health challenges in your own life, seeing people you love struggle, and just feeling like there is no way out and nothing will ever get better.”
Constructs was produced by Odneal and guitarist Austin Bentley and mixed and mastered by Zack Ohren. The record also contains callbacks to the band’s Ghost era while further developing the ideas and themes introduced throughout their previous material.
The album’s 3D artwork was created by Billelis and reflects the record’s central themes surrounding the temporary nature of identity, relationships, ambitions, and human experiences.
“The idea that our identities, relationships, ambitions, and experiences, though beautiful, are ultimately constructs that eventually collapse was something we wanted reflected in the imagery itself,” Bentley says. “Like the songs themselves, the artwork brings an ominous and almost mythological quality to bear.”
Constructs will be available digitally, on CD, and on vinyl, including Pearl Bone Marble and Shimmer Gold + Black Marble variants in the United States.
