Texas progressive metalcore band FERVENCE have released a new single and video, “Ascension,” taken from their forthcoming full-length Constructs. The album arrives October 16 via Metal Blade Records and marks the band’s debut for the label.
Designed as one of the record’s most abrupt and chaotic moments, “Ascension” brings a short, aggressive burst of energy to the album.
“‘Ascension’ came about because I felt like the album really needed chaos – short, fast, and seemingly out of left field,” founding guitarist Trent Odneal explains. “Kind of like a fever-dream with a fleeting moment of reflection before it slips away, only to be pulled back into the chaos.”
The new track follows previously released single “Zenith” and offers another glimpse into the contrasts that shape Constructs. Drawing inspiration from bands including Deftones, Architects and Silent Planet, FERVENCE combine atmospheric textures and melodic passages with progressive metalcore aggression.
Originally formed by Odneal as a solo project in Reno, Nevada in 2019, FERVENCE released debut album Ghost the following year. Vocalist Stevie B. joined the project when the band reemerged in 2023, after which FERVENCE began touring the West Coast and released the four singles that formed their Realm//One EP.
Now based in Austin, Texas, the five-piece spent 2025 developing the material for Constructs. Its eleven songs explore themes surrounding life, death, relationships and the ways personal experiences shape identity.
“As we have grown together and individually so have our views on existence and the concepts discussed,” Odneal says. “Constructs is a refinement of our ability to convey some of these thoughts in a more generally relatable way, while also adding a bit more insight on other tangential topics.”
The album was produced by Odneal and guitarist Austin Bentley, with mixing and mastering handled by Zack Ohren. Constructs will be available digitally and on CD, as well as Pearl Bone Marble and Shimmer Gold + Black Marble vinyl variants in the U.S.

FERVENCE are currently finishing a run with Beauty Is Betrayal before heading back on the road in October with Enthronement. The latter tour begins October 16 in Dallas, coinciding with the release of Constructs, and continues through early November.
