Australian heavy progressive band Flitcraft have revealed the video for Beside the Point, the latest single from their upcoming third album Transmission Echo, arriving October 17th on Pitch Black Records.
A hypnotic blend of darkness and melody, Beside the Point captures the essence of Flitcraft’s sound, rich in riffs, emotion, and progressive depth, all delivered with a touch of surreal pop sensibility. The accompanying video, steeped in noir atmosphere and dreamlike tension, serves as both a cinematic and psychological trip through light and shadow.
Frontman Phillip T. King (vocals, guitar, synth), who also wrote and directed the video, shares:
“‘Beside the Point’ is a cool little song that perhaps defines Flitcraft in a way… it’s weird and dark and yet also creeps up with a pop vibe and catchy chorus. I wanted to write something simple and trancy; this is the result. The video was a fun experiment in attempting to make a narrative out of the dreamy strangeness that the music evokes. It’s my tip of the hat to the film noir vibes of David Lynch; I want people to feel odd and then laugh. Which is my general experience in day-to-day life.”
