GLORYHAMMER Unleash New Single “Die with a Sword in My Hand”

Power metal band GLORYHAMMER have released their heroic new single, “Die with a Sword in My Hand,” the latest preview of their forthcoming fifth studio album, Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath, arriving October 16 via Napalm Records.

Accompanied by an animated music video presented in the style of a television show, the new track plunges listeners back into GLORYHAMMER’s increasingly elaborate intergalactic mythology. “Die with a Sword in My Hand” finds the Space Kingdom of Fife facing another demonic invasion as protagonist Angus McFife V confronts the chaos of an escalating intergalactic war.

Packed with high-energy power metal, triumphant melodies and a chorus reinforced by gang vocals, the song is tailor-made for the band’s theatrical live performances.

The Hootsman offers an appropriately concise explanation of the track:

“I don’t always die, but when I do, it’s with a sword in my hand.”

Space 1993: Wrath of Kor-Virliath serves as a direct sequel to GLORYHAMMER’s 2015 album Space 1992: Rise of the Chaos Wizards. Its story follows Angus McFife V, the Crown Prince of Fife previously featured in the 2022 single “Fly Away,” on a journey through spacetime toward the distant future of 1993.

Across 11 tracks, GLORYHAMMER expand their familiar power metal foundation with elements of thrash, synth rock and sweeping orchestral arrangements while continuing the sprawling saga of the McFife dynasty. The album was produced by the band and mixed by Jacob Hansen, whose credits include Volbeat and Amaranthe.

The record begins with the cinematic “Ultra Portam Astralem” before launching into “Ultimate Sacrifice” and the previously released “On a Quest for Aberdeen.” From there, “Die with a Sword in My Hand” finds Aberdeen overrun by demons, setting the stage for the battles that follow.

Other chapters include “Silver Talon,” “Starfighters of Leuchars,” “Warriors of Auchtermuchty,” “Pax Galactica,” “Demonic Devotion” and “Hammer of Fate.” The story culminates with the nearly 13-minute, four-part finale, “The Celestial Warhost of the Dundonian Empire Marches to Space Against the Dark Sorcerer: Final Assault on Battlemoon X-22.”

GLORYHAMMER will celebrate the album’s release with an extensive European and UK tour alongside MAJESTICA and ARION. The run begins October 16 in Toulouse, France and continues through November 22 in Glasgow, Scotland.
