Internationally acclaimed guitarist and Firewind mastermind Gus G has released his powerful new single “Nothing Can Break Me”, featuring the legendary Doro Pesch. The track is taken from his upcoming solo album Steel Burner, set for release on April 24 via Metal Department.
Arriving alongside an official lyric video, “Nothing Can Break Me” stands as a bold, anthemic statement rooted in perseverance, resilience, and unbreakable spirit. Combining Gus G.’s signature guitar precision with Doro’s unmistakable vocal power, the track delivers a classic-meets-modern metal punch that feels both timeless and immediate.
Reflecting on the collaboration, Gus G. shares:
“Doro is an icon, the Metal Queen. Everybody knows that. Having the opportunity to collaborate with her on a track is something I have wished would happen for a long time. ‘Nothing Can Break Me’ is a powerful Metal anthem about perseverance. I’m really proud of this one.”

A New Chapter with Steel Burner
Following years of extensive post-pandemic touring, Steel Burner marks Gus G.’s long-awaited return to his solo career, his first solo release in five years. The album represents a refined vision that balances instrumental mastery with dynamic vocal collaborations, showcasing both his evolution as a composer and his deep roots in heavy metal.
The album’s concept was sparked by its title track, “Steel Burner”, originally commissioned for an industrial machine manufacturer. Inspired by the raw power and mechanical precision of the machine itself, Gus G. built the album’s sonic identity around that same intensity, resulting in a cohesive and high-energy listening experience.
While instrumental tracks highlight his technical prowess, Steel Burner also features an impressive lineup of guest vocalists. Alongside Doro Pesch, the album includes contributions from Dino Jelusick, Ronnie Romero (known for his work with Rainbow), and Matt Barlow of Iced Earth and Ashes of Ares.
Gus G. explains his vision for the record:
“This is my first solo album release in five years. I wanted the best of both worlds—exploring guitar instrumental music while also collaborating with singers I love and admire.”
Crafted for Power and Precision
Steel Burner was mixed and mastered by renowned producer Dennis Ward (Helloween, Pink Cream 69), ensuring a crisp, modern production that enhances both the album’s technical depth and its melodic impact.
With his fifth solo album, Gus G. delivers a confident and forward-looking statement, one that honors the foundations of heavy metal while embracing modern themes, high-level collaborations, and sonic evolution.
