American hardcore/metal band Hatebreed, formed in 1994 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, has released their first new single in five years, Make the Demons Obey, on July 21, 2025, premiered via SiriusXM Liquid Metal. Described by Revolver as “pummeling” with “deadliest, beefiest breakdowns,” the track delivers PMA lyrics, sick riffs, and singalongs, marking a heavier, more vicious sound since 2020’s Weight of the False Self. Singer Jamey Jasta calls it their most exciting release yet, while drummer Matt Byrne labels it their “fastest, most aggressive” work.

Currently independent, Hatebreed is self-funding their upcoming album, with guitarist Wayne Lozinak recovering from a benign meningioma diagnosis. The band headlines the Summer Slaughter 2025 tour, running through July 28 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, featuring Fugitive, Gridiron, Incite, Escuela Grind, Snuffed on Sight, and Bleeding Through on select dates, with Malevolence withdrawing due to personal circumstances.
