Italian heavy metal band HYPERION returns from the cosmic void with their third full-length album, Cybergenesis, due January 15, 2026 via Fighter Records. A thrilling fusion of traditional heavy metal and cinematic storytelling, Cybergenesis is a dark space opera set in a distant future where humanity faces extinction at the hands of an ancient alien hive mind known as The Choir. Amid the wreckage of a world enslaved by cyborg overlords, a fallen commander is reborn as The Rhizome Rider, leading a rebellion from within.
Rooted in influences like Judas Priest, Metal Church, and early Queensrÿche, HyperioN sharpen their classic sound with futuristic aggression and melodic sophistication. The album’s handcrafted cover artwork, painted by English artist Ryan T. Hancock (Seven Sisters, Blood Star, Stormborn), reflects the same commitment to authenticity found in the band’s music: no AI, just raw creativity.
Guitarist and producer Davide Cotti describes Cybergenesis as both a continuation and rebirth of the band’s legacy:
“This album represents everything HyperioN stands for — power, melody, and vision. We wanted to build a story where emotion meets metal, and humanity fights back against its own creations.”
