British power metal band Gloryhammer have released their standalone single “On a Quest for Aberdeen” today, May 27, 2025, alongside an animated lyric video, as announced by Napalm Records. The track, produced by Jacob Hansen (Powerwolf, Amaranthe). The song continues the saga of Angus McFife V, first introduced in 2022’s “Fly Away,” as he journeys through the ruins of Space Dundee—set a year after Space 1992—to find the golden fortress of Aberdeen, only to be trapped in the “Heavens of the Demonflame.” Lyrics like “Lost in the valley of the unicorns / On a quest for Aberdeen / Fighting the demons of the netherstorm” capture the band’s fantastical storytelling.

Gloryhammer—Sozos Michael (vocals), Paul Templing (guitar), James Cartwright (bass), Michael Barber (keyboards), and Ben Turk (drums)—will bring this new anthem to life on their Dundax Ascendant Summer Tour across Europe with Visions of Atlantis, followed by a massive US tour with Alestorm in September and October. The band teased the US run with, “It’s time to make America HOOT again!”
