Extreme metal supergroup Sinsaenum has returned after a seven-year hiatus, releasing their new single and video “In Devastation” on May 20, 2025, ahead of their third studio album of the same name, set to drop on August 8, 2025 via earMUSIC. The band—Frédéric Leclercq (Kreator, Loudblast), Attila Csihar (Mayhem), Sean Zatorsky (Dååth), Stéphane Buriez (Loudblast), and Heimoth (Seth)—welcomes new drummer Andre Joyzi, who steps in following the passing of Joey Jordison (Slipknot, Murderdolls) in 2021. Joyzi, formerly Jordison’s drum tech, brings an emotional connection to the band, continuing his legacy.

The 10-track In Devastation—including songs like “Cede to Thunder,” “Shades of Black,” and “Over The Red Wall”—is a blackened death metal journey with Sinsaenum’s melodic ferocity and experimental edge. Produced and mixed by German engineer Lasse Lammert, the album introduces progressive elements, clean vocals, and cello, while retaining their brutal core. It serves as a tribute to Jordison and Leclercq’s late father, whose deaths deeply influenced the record. Leclercq shares, “I was devastated, hence the title of this album. But we knew we had to carry on. This record is our tribute to my father, to Joey, and to anyone who’s ever had to find strength in their darkest moments.” The album’s raw emotion, blending grief and defiance, makes it their most personal work yet.
