Finnish melodic death metal veterans Mors Principium Est have revealed their ninth studio album, Darkness Invisible, set for release on September 26, 2025, through their new label, PERCEPTION, an imprint of Reigning Phoenix Music. The announcement comes after their 2022 compilation Liberate The Unborn Inhumanity, marking a significant new chapter for the band. The 11-track album, including a bonus cover of Isac Elliot’s “Makso Mitä Makso” (digipak-CD/digital only), delivers MPE’s signature sound—razor-sharp riffs, sweeping orchestrations, melancholic harmonies, and relentless rhythms—elevated by Ville Viljanen’s fierce vocals. Recorded at Ansa Studio in Ulvila, Finland, mixed by Jens Bogren, and mastered by Tony Lindgren at Fascination Street Studios in Örebro, Sweden, Darkness Invisible also features artwork by Alvaro Valverde Fernandez. Tracks like “Of Death” and “Tenebrae Latebra” promise cinematic arrangements with electronic textures and dynamic shifts, reflecting the emotional depth of the lyrics.
