Alestorm Drops New Single “Killed to Death by Piracy” with Music Video

Scottish pirate metal band Alestorm has released their latest single, “Killed to Death by Piracy,” accompanied by a new music video, as announced today, May 20, 2025. The track is the second single from their upcoming eighth studio album, The Thunderfist Chronicles, set to drop on June 20, 2025, via Napalm Records. Following the earlier release of “Frozen Piss 2” in April, this song continues the band’s signature blend of blistering riffs, shanty-driven melodies, and absurd lyrics, with frontman Christopher Bowes describing it as part of a trilogy on the album—alongside “The Storm” and “Mega-Supreme Treasure of the Eternal Thunderfist”—that weaves an epic tale of cursed treasure and eldritch knowledge.

Bowes also highlighted a cause close to the band’s heart, noting the plight of swans like the Bewick’s and whooper species, which face threats from habitat loss, climate change, power lines, and lead poisoning. He urged fans to support conservation efforts, specifically mentioning the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust. Alestorm—Christopher Bowes (vocals, keytar), Gareth Murdock (bass), Máté Bodor (guitar), Peter Alcorn (drums), and Elliot Vernon (keyboard)—continues their reign as pirate metal’s wildest crew, with The Thunderfist Chronicles promising chaos and legendary antics.
