Swedish death metal pioneers Unleashed, one of the genre’s “big four,” are set to release their 15th studio album, Fire Upon Your Lands, on August 15, 2025, via Napalm Records. Announced yesterday, May 22, this 11-track record continues the saga from 2021’s No Sign of Life, diving deeper into the World of Odalheim with tales of Midgard warriors. Led by founder Johnny Hedlund, Unleashed delivers a ferocious mix of crushing riffs, venomous growls, and battle cries across tracks like “Left for Dead,” which opens with the warriors confronting the captured son of White Christ, and “A Toast to the Fallen,” a tribute to lost warriors.
The album features signature Unleashed elements—blast beats and high energy riffs in “War Comes Again,” haunting melodies in the doom-laden “To My Only Son,” and an anthemic Viking hymn in “Hold Your Hammers High!,” which follows the son of Thor into battle.
