Heavy metal icon KAI HANSEN has released “Wait And See,” the third single from his forthcoming solo album, Born With A Hammer, due September 18 via earMUSIC.
Following “Feeding The Beast” and the speed-driven rock ‘n’ roll spirit of “Welcome To Life,” “Wait And See” reveals a heavier, darker and more intense side of the upcoming record. Sharp riffs and a relentlessly driving rhythm form the backbone of the track, while subtle electronic elements add a restless, contemporary edge without sacrificing its metallic weight.
The chorus brings Hansen’s unmistakable combination of power, melody and bite to the forefront, while shifting textures throughout the song keep its heavier approach from becoming one-dimensional. Rather than revisiting the past, “Wait And See” presents Hansen sounding firmly engaged with where his music can go next.
The single arrives alongside a new video featuring footage captured during a trip to Slovakia. Away from the traditional performance setting, the clip follows Hansen driving a Mustang, traveling through the country and spending time in the studio, offering a more personal glimpse behind the music.
Born With A Hammer was produced by Eike Freese, Kai Hansen and Alexander Dietz. The album features Freese on guitar, Heaven Shall Burn’s Alexander Dietz on bass, Carcass drummer Dan Wilding and Induction guitarist Tim Hansen.
Across ten tracks, the record brings together heavy metal, punk attitude, hard rock energy and Hansen’s trademark melodic sensibility. The first three singles — “Feeding The Beast,” “Welcome To Life” and “Wait And See” — showcase different sides of the album while retaining the songwriting identity Hansen has developed throughout his career.
Following the worldwide success of Helloween’s reunion era and its extensive international touring, Born With A Hammer brings Hansen’s focus back to his own musical world. His history remains an unmistakable part of the record, but the new material is presented as a continuation rather than an exercise in nostalgia.

Kai Hansen is a co-founder of Helloween and founder of Gamma Ray, whose work played a major role in shaping the sound and development of power metal. Alongside his continuing work with Helloween, Born With A Hammer marks the latest chapter of his solo career.
