KAMELOT have released “Godlike Alchemy,” the second single from their upcoming album Dark Asylum, due out August 28, 2026 via Napalm Records.
Following the success of lead single “Ashen World,” which was recognized by Revolver as one of the week’s standout tracks, Frontman Tommy Karevik delivers an emotionally charged vocal performance, while guitarist Thomas Youngblood drives the song with melodic solos and powerful riffing that balance grandeur with heaviness.
Speaking about the new single, Karevik explained that the song reflects the album’s central message.
“This song encapsulates the overarching theme of Dark Asylum. What if you don’t need to look outside of yourself to find peace and happiness… What if you already possess the power you need to heal and create the reality you want to see? What if we are all magical, powerful beings with unlimited potential? It’s a mind boggling thought…”
A Journey Into RavenHill Asylum
Set within the fictional Neo-Victorian world of RavenHill Asylum, Dark Asylum follows a psychological and spiritual journey through a former cathedral transformed into an asylum where science, faith, and madness collide. Throughout the album, KAMELOT expands its cinematic approach while maintaining the melodic hooks and symphonic power that have defined the band for decades.
The album features an impressive lineup of guest musicians, including Avantasia mastermind Tobias Sammet, Visions of Atlantis vocalist Clémentine Delauney, Eluveitie violinist Lea-Sophie Fischer, Ignacia Fernández of Decessus, Rannveig Sif Sigurðardóttir, Sólveig Sara Leupold, and Billy King.
From the orchestral sweep of “Ashen World” to the introspective “Sanctuary” and the newly released “Godlike Alchemy,” the album unfolds as a theatrical concept exploring identity, transformation, and the fragile line between reality and illusion.
