Swedish black metal band MALAKHIM have unleashed their highly anticipated second full-length album, And In Our Hearts the Devil Sings, now streaming in full exclusively via Black Metal Promotion. The album will see its international release on October 31st through Iron Bonehead Productions.
Since their formation in 2016, MALAKHIM’s rise through the black metal ranks has been both deliberate and unrelenting. From their early demo and EP to their acclaimed debut album Theion (2021), the band have refined their sound into a deadly synthesis of dark melodicism and death-fueled intensity — a modern incarnation of Sweden’s orthodox black metal spirit steeped in the tradition of No Fashion and Solistitium Records.
Four years after Theion, MALAKHIM return with And In Our Hearts the Devil Sings , a title that embodies the album’s grander scope and infernal devotion. The record presents a more melodic yet even more menacing incarnation of the band, delivering both crushing velocity and a newfound sense of epic gravitas. The result is an album that feels ritualistic, vast, and hauntingly human in its portrayal of evil.
While And In Our Hearts the Devil Sings isn’t strictly a concept album, it thematically orbits around the Jewish idea of Yetzer Hara, humanity’s innate inclination toward evil. Across seven harrowing compositions, the band channels this inner darkness through blazing tremolo riffs, commanding rhythms, and melodic passages that evoke the tragic majesty of fallen angels.
Recorded once again by longtime collaborator M. Norman, whose engineering has shaped all of MALAKHIM’s releases to date, the album represents both a sonic and spiritual evolution. The artwork, crafted by K. Pavleska (Mors Ultima Ratio Art) and Karmazid, captures the album’s descent into temptation and transcendence.
