Swedish extreme metal band MESHUGGAH have announced The Forty-Year Anomaly Tour, an extensive North American trek celebrating their 40th anniversary. The 2027 tour will feature special guests TESTAMENT and BLOOD INCANTATION, bringing together three bands representing different generations and approaches to extreme metal.
Produced by Live Nation, the tour will begin February 12 in Toronto, Canada, and continue across North America through May, with performances in major cities including Chicago, Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, and Fort Lauderdale.
Among the highlights is MESHUGGAH‘s first-ever performance at the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, scheduled for April 21. The tour will also include appearances at Oakland’s Fox Theater and the Brooklyn Paramount.
The announcement marks another milestone in the career of MESHUGGAH, whose unconventional rhythmic structures, extended-range guitars, and technical approach to songwriting have influenced generations of progressive and extreme metal musicians.
Formed in Umeå, Sweden, in 1987, MESHUGGAH developed a distinctive sound characterized by complex polyrhythms, heavily syncopated guitar riffs, and an uncompromising approach to musical experimentation. Albums such as Destroy Erase Improve, Chaosphere, Nothing, obZen, and Koloss helped establish the band’s reputation as one of the most influential acts in modern extreme metal.
Their most recent studio album, Immutable, was released in 2022.
Joining the tour are Bay Area thrash metal veterans TESTAMENT, whose career spans more than four decades, and Colorado’s BLOOD INCANTATION, known for combining atmospheric death metal with progressive and experimental elements.
The pairing brings together MESHUGGAH’s precision-driven compositions, TESTAMENT’s aggressive thrash metal, and BLOOD INCANTATION’s expansive approach to death metal.
Florida Performances
Florida fans will have two opportunities to catch MESHUGGAH during the final stretch of the tour.
The band is scheduled to perform at Welcome to Rockville in Daytona Beach on May 8, followed by a headlining appearance at the War Memorial in Fort Lauderdale on May 9.
The Fort Lauderdale show will mark the band’s return to South Florida as part of their anniversary celebration.
