METALLICA has released the first official live video from its historic performance at the Sphere in Las Vegas, giving fans a glimpse into the band’s groundbreaking concert experience at the state-of-the-art venue.
The newly released footage captures the legendary thrash metal band performing “The Call of Ktulu” during its October 1, 2026, concert, marking the first official video release from the highly anticipated shows.
Earlier this month, METALLICA made history as the first metal band to perform at the Las Vegas Sphere, a venue renowned for its massive immersive display and cutting-edge audiovisual technology.
METALLICA brings “The Call of Ktulu” to the Sphere
Originally featured on the band’s landmark 1984 album, Ride the Lightning, “The Call of Ktulu” remains one of METALLICA’s most celebrated instrumental compositions.
The atmospheric track, inspired by the cosmic horror mythology of H. P. Lovecraft, provides a fitting soundtrack for the Sphere’s immersive visual environment.
The newly released performance offers fans who were unable to attend the Las Vegas concerts an opportunity to experience a portion of the band’s production.
With its combination of intricate guitar passages, dramatic musical arrangements, and instrumental intensity, “The Call of Ktulu” highlights a different dimension of METALLICA’s extensive catalog.
A historic milestone for heavy metal
METALLICA’s appearance at the Sphere represents another milestone for the band and for heavy metal as a whole.
Since opening in 2023, the Las Vegas venue has attracted international attention for its immersive concert technology, including an enormous wraparound LED display and advanced audio capabilities.
METALLICA’s performances brought the band’s signature heavy sound to the venue, introducing a new visual dimension to its live presentation.
The release of “The Call of Ktulu” marks the first opportunity for fans worldwide to watch official footage from the concerts.
