Finnish black metal band MORGAL will release their highly anticipated sophomore album, The Seventh Circle, on June 26 through Werewolf Records on CD, vinyl LP, and cassette formats.
Five years removed from their debut full-length Nightmare Lord, the band returns reinvigorated with a revamped lineup and a renewed commitment to the raw, hellbound energy that first put them on the underground metal map with their 2018 self-titled EP.
The current incarnation of MORGAL features founding members Crusher (guitar) and SS Exiler (drums), now joined by vocalist/bassist Tomb Nekrofiler and second guitarist Killhammer. According to the band and label, the addition of new blood has pushed Morgal deeper into “sulfurous origins,” while sharpening the songwriting with a more seasoned heavy metal attack.
Following a brief intro, The Seventh Circle reportedly launches into a relentless assault of chaotic yet calculated black metal, balancing feral intensity with memorable songwriting and epic structures. The album’s twin-guitar attack and unhinged rhythm section channel influences reminiscent of classic South American extremity and first-wave black metal savagery, while still carving out Morgal’s own identity.
Fans can already hear the previously released track “Stormchaser”:

The Seventh Circle Track Listing

MORGAL first gained widespread attention for their youth and explosive early material, eventually releasing their debut album Nightmare Lord with cover artwork by legendary fantasy artist Joe Petagno.
With The Seventh Circle, the band appears poised to fully embrace a darker and more infernal vision, trading the cold hues of their debut for what the label describes as “the lungs of Hell: all fire, all the fucking time.”
