Swedish melodic death metal band ORBIT CULTURE have released a new music video for “The Path I Walk,” featuring acclaimed cellist Tina Guo. The collaboration arrives ahead of the October 10 release of Death Above Life (Deluxe Edition), an expanded version of the band’s latest studio album.
Created by longtime collaborators Riivata Visuals, the video highlights one of the album’s more emotional compositions, with Guo’s cello performance adding a cinematic dimension to ORBIT CULTURE’s signature blend of crushing riffs, melodic passages, and atmospheric arrangements.
The band explains how the collaboration came together:
“We’ve always been a bit uneasy about bringing someone else into our music, but Tina Guo was the exception. Ever since we saw her perform in Stockholm in 2017, we’d joked about working with her one day.”
After suggesting Guo as a potential guest musician, the band discovered that their A&R representative, Mike Gitter, had a direct connection with the cellist.
“We initially worked out her parts in MIDI using her own sample library, but hearing her actual performance was something else entirely. The emotion she brought completely changed the song and took it further than we’d imagined.”
Death Above Life (Deluxe Edition)

The expanded release includes three previously unreleased tracks: “Nuclear God,” “Spiral Head,” and “The Form Not Meant To Be.”
Beyond the additional music, the deluxe edition offers an expanded visual presentation, including a 40-page artbook and mediabook featuring previously unseen photographs, live imagery, and behind-the-scenes material from the band’s archives.
“We’re proud to release the Deluxe Edition of Death Above Life and finally share ‘Nuclear God,’ ‘Spiral Head,’ and ‘The Form Not Meant To Be,’” the band comments. “It’s always exciting to put out songs that people haven’t heard yet, and we’re looking forward to seeing what everyone makes of these three.”
Death Above Life (Deluxe Edition) will be available in limited-edition double vinyl, 2CD mediabook, and digital formats.
European and North American Tours
Following the deluxe album release, ORBIT CULTURE will embark on an extensive touring schedule.
The band will first join AMON AMARTH and SOILWORK across Europe and the UK as part of The Allfather Awakens Tour. The all-Swedish lineup will bring together three generations of the country’s influential metal scene.
ORBIT CULTURE will then head to North America for the second leg of TRIVIUM’s The Crown in the Grave Tour, alongside IN FLAMES and FROZEN SOUL.
“We’ve got a lot of touring ahead of us, starting with Amon Amarth on their ‘The Allfather Awakens’ EU/UK Tour, where we’ll be direct support with Soilwork on the bill as well,” the band shares.
“After that, we head over to the US to join Trivium, In Flames and Frozen Soul. It’s a hell of a lineup, and to have both of these tours ahead of us feels a bit unreal when you stop and think about it.”
Formed in Eksjö, Sweden, ORBIT CULTURE have steadily established themselves as one of modern metal’s rising acts. Their combination of melodic death metal, thrash, and industrial influences has earned them an international following.
The band’s current lineup consists of Niklas Karlsson (vocals/guitar), Richard Hansson (guitar), Fredrik Lennartsson (bass), and Christopher Wallerstedt (drums).
