PSYCROPTIC Unleash New Single “No Blade Of Grass” Ahead Of The Pulse Of Annihilation Release

Australian technical death metal veterans PSYCROPTIC have released their latest single, “No Blade Of Grass,” offering another glimpse into their forthcoming album, The Pulse Of Annihilation, due out July 17 via Metal Blade Records.

The new track showcases the band’s signature blend of technical precision while incorporating elements of classic death metal. Guitarist Joe Haley describes the song as a balance between old-school PSYCROPTIC riffing and looser, groove-driven sections inspired by the genre’s roots, all tied together by an expansive choral and orchestral chorus.

Bassist Todd Stern highlights the song’s memorable songwriting, calling it one of the catchiest tracks on the record, driven by powerful verse riffs and relentless momentum. Vocalist Jason Peppiatt also praised the track, noting that it marked the first song written for the band by fellow vocalist Jason Keyser, whose contributions brought fresh ideas and a unique vocal flow to the composition.

Accompanying the single is an official music video that further introduces fans to the next chapter of PSYCROPTIC’s evolution. The release follows the band’s previously unveiled single, “Gathering A Venomous Herd,” both of which appear on The Pulse Of Annihilation.

Set to be the band’s first album for Metal Blade Records, The Pulse Of Annihilation finds PSYCROPTIC refining the technical death metal formula they have spent more than two decades perfecting. While the complexity and intricate musicianship remain intact, the new material demonstrates a greater emphasis on songwriting, pacing, and dynamic composition.

At the heart of the record is guitarist and principal songwriter Joe Haley, whose evolving approach to composition continues to push the band’s sound forward. The album also features the dual-vocal attack of Jason Peppiatt and Jason Keyser, whose contrasting styles create additional depth and intensity throughout the record.

The Pulse Of Annihilation features artwork by Belial Necroarts and will be available on CD, digital formats, and multiple vinyl variants.
