Pittsburgh death metal quartet Ritual Mass will release their debut LP, Cascading Misery, on September 5th through 20 Buck Spin. The album follows earlier demo and EP releases, marking the band’s most expansive work to date.

Recorded by Greg Wilkinson at Mr. Smalls Recording Studio in Pittsburgh, with vocals engineered by John Kerr and final mixing/mastering at Earhammer Studios in Oakland, Cascading Misery delivers a dense, oppressive sound across its multi-tempo structures. The record’s themes center on ritualized suffering, dissolution of hope, and the inevitability of death.

The title track, Cascading Misery, is streaming now via YouTube and Bandcamp. Preorders for LP, CD, cassette, and digital formats are available through the 20 Buck Spin webshop and Bandcamp.

Track highlights include opener Obsidian Mirror and 14-minute closer Disquiet. Artwork and layout were handled by the band’s P. Trona, with additional contributions from Bo Orr and Erik Von Bartholomaus.

  • 8/30/2025 – Philadelphia, PA @ Century Bar w/ Noroth, Funeral Leech, Cavern Womb
