Formed in 2015, Scardust—Noa Gruman (vocals), Gal Gabriel Israel (guitar), Aaron Friedland (keyboards), Orr Didi (bass), and Yoav Weinberg (drums)—has risen as a force in progressive metal. Souls, their third full-length, explores memory, loss, and connection, blending intricate prog elements with symphonic sweeps, anthemic choruses, and Mediterranean and Celtic influences. The band describes it as their “most ambitious album to date,” featuring the Hellscore choir, a Turkish string orchestra, TLV Orchestra, and guests like Ross Jennings (Haken) and Ally Storch (Subway to Sally).
Following their 2020 album Strangers and 2023’s “Game of Now,” Scardust signed with Frontiers in 2023, toured with Blind Guardian, and played festivals like Wacken Open Air. Recent singles “My Haven” and “RIP” showcased their evolving sound, and Souls promises to push further with tracks like “Unreachable” and “Searing Echoes.” For fans of Epica or Nightwish, this release is a must-hear.
