Grammy-nominated, multiplatinum rock band STAIND has released its new single and official music video, “Ghosts,” marking the group’s first new music since 2023’s Confessions of the Fallen. The track arrives via Alchemy Recordings/BMG as the Massachusetts quartet prepares for another North American tour in 2027.
Produced by Erik Ron (GODSMACK, BAD OMENS, PAPA ROACH), “Ghosts” brings together the heavy riffs, haunting melodies, and emotional intensity that have defined STAIND’s sound for three decades.
Built around Mike Mushok’s signature detuned guitar work, the song moves between atmospheric verses and explosive choruses, with Aaron Lewis delivering a vocal performance that balances vulnerability and aggression.
Mushok recalls how the track came together:
“We went down to Nashville for a writing trip with Erik. We had gotten together, and I came up with the riff on the spot. From there, Erik and I put the track together in just one day and finished it up. Aaron listened to it a little later and did this really great vocal over it. ‘Ghosts’ ended up being a very dynamic song.”
Lewis adds:
“It seemed like everybody had gravitated towards ‘Ghosts.’ It’s a little different, and it surprised all of us. It’s got some heavy elements, but it’s certainly melodic too. It’s definitely STAIND.”
The release signals the beginning of a new chapter for STAIND, with additional music expected in the near future.
STAIND Celebrates 25 Years of Break the Cycle
The new single follows a successful year for the band, highlighted by the 25th anniversary of their breakthrough 2001 album, Break the Cycle.
Recently certified seven-times platinum, the record spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and produced some of STAIND’s most recognizable songs, including “It’s Been A While.”
The album’s deep cut “Warm Safe Place” also experienced an unexpected resurgence on TikTok in 2026, introducing the band’s music to a new generation of listeners and helping push their annual streaming numbers beyond one billion.
To commemorate the milestone, STAIND released Break the Cycle (25th Anniversary Live) and embarked on a North American anniversary tour that sold out nearly every date.
