Australian deathcore force TO THE GRAVE have announced their fifth full-length album, LIBERATION FRONT, arriving October 2 via BLKIIBLK. Alongside the announcement, the band has unleashed the blistering new single “NAIL MARY” and its accompanying music video, offering another preview of the upcoming release following the debut of “EYESTALK ABLATIONS.”
According to vocalist Dane Evans, “NAIL MARY” confronts the use of religion to justify violence against animals, continuing the band’s long-standing commitment to animal liberation and environmental activism through uncompromising extreme metal.
Formed in 2010, TO THE GRAVE have built a reputation as one of Australia’s most relentless heavy acts, combining brutal deathcore with outspoken advocacy. Their catalog includes Global Warning, Epilogue, Director’s Cuts, and 2024’s Everyone’s a Murderer, while their live performances have seen them tour alongside acts including Lorna Shore, Thy Art Is Murder, Shadow of Intent, Carnifex, and Oceano.
With LIBERATION FRONT, the band returns to a more deathcore-driven sound after incorporating stronger hardcore influences on recent releases. The album promises ten tracks of relentless aggression, beginning with opener “MEAT THE HUMANS” and continuing through songs such as “TORTURE PORN,” “CALF SLICER,” and “THE WORLD IS A SLAUGHTERHOUSE.”
Evans explained that the album originated while touring Australia last year, describing it as a spiritual successor to Director’s Cuts while channeling the intensity of Everyone’s a Murderer into an even more aggressive and uncompromising release.
To support the album, TO THE GRAVE will embark on “The Sawed Off Suffering Tour” beginning September 17 in Chicago. The North American run will feature co-headliners Crown Magnetar with support from Face Yourself, while select dates will also include I Declare War, Tracheotomy, Backbiter, Squelching, and Ameonna. Before heading overseas, the band will complete a series of Australian dates in early September.
