TO THE GRAVE Unleash New Single “LIFE AMONG THE SEPTICS”; Liberation Front Out October 2

Australian deathcore band TO THE GRAVE have unleashed “LIFE AMONG THE SEPTICS,” the fourth single from their forthcoming fifth studio album, Liberation Front, due October 2 via BLKIIBLK. The track arrives alongside an official music video.

According to bassist Matt Clarke, the new track sees TO THE GRAVE reconnecting with the sound and influences behind 2023’s Director’s Cuts.

This song was us leaning hard back into the same influences as our ‘Director’s Cuts’ album. It’s got all those elements in it: bouncy riffs, some fast stuff and just lots of dynamics. We’re looking forward to playing this one on the upcoming tours…that start today. Australia now, North America in two weeks!”

The accompanying video takes a slightly different approach from the band’s previous performance clips, bringing friends into the shoot and striking a balance between intensity and a more relaxed atmosphere.

“For the video, we wanted to do something a bit different to the other performance videos,” Clarke adds. “We got a bunch of our mates to come down and hang with us. We did something that’s somewhere between serious and fun.”

Formed in 2010, TO THE GRAVE have built their reputation through releases including Global Warning, Epilogue, Director’s Cuts and 2024’s Everyone’s a Murderer, combining punishing deathcore with lyrical themes centered on animal cruelty and environmental destruction. The Sydney band have toured internationally alongside Lorna Shore, Thy Art Is Murder, Shadow Of Intent, Carnifex and Oceano, among others.

Liberation Front marks the band’s BLKIIBLK debut and finds TO THE GRAVE making a deliberate return to their deathcore roots after incorporating a stronger hardcore influence into recent material. Across ten tracks, the record channels the band’s aggression into themes of animal liberation, environmental activism and direct action.

Vocalist Dane Evans explains:

“‘LIBERATION FRONT’ was born as a concept on tour last year in Australia after we decided we wanted to make the sequel to ‘Director’s Cuts.’ What came out was something between that and a more pissed off brother to ‘Everyone’s A Murderer.’ It’s got so many things I love about the band and a bit of everything pushed to 100 with a really bleak kind of aggression that’s just reaching for your throat the entire time. Very keen to play some of these songs live and it’s an exciting chapter to add.”

Liberation Front tracklist:

  1. MEAT THE HUMANS
  2. NAIL MARY
  3. TORTURE PORN

TO THE GRAVE will bring the new material to North America this fall on The Sawed Off Suffering Tour, co-headlining with Crown Magnetar and joined throughout the run by Face Yourself. The tour begins September 17 in Chicago and features rotating support from Backbiter, Tracheotomy, Squelching, I Declare War and Ameonna.

“These are the heaviest lineups we’ve ever put together, and we can’t wait for these shows across North America and at home in Aus,” says Clarke. “For North America, all these bands have a different approach, but the one thing that brings it all together is intensity!”

The North American run includes an October 4 stop at The Banyan Live in West Palm Beach, Florida.
