Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation and Ukrainian Eurovision star Jerry Heil have unveiled the official music video for their collaborative single “Sing Like A Siren,” which dropped today, May 26, 2025, on YouTube. Released on May 16, the track blends rock, classical vocals, and Ukrainian folk motifs, featuring a vesnyanka melody symbolizing water’s ebb and flow. Jerry Heil describes the song’s narrative: “This story has two main characters: a girl and a powerful force—water. But over time, we realize they are one and the same, because humans and nature are deeply connected. The storm represents the challenges we face on our way to a safe harbor. But the truth is—sometimes we create that storm ourselves.”
The cinematic song, tied to Within Temptation’s documentary The Invisible Force about their support for Ukraine, reflects struggle, determination, and hope. It starts with delicate piano, unfolds into folk singing, and ends with a springtime vesnyanka, symbolizing renewal. The collaboration, sparked at Kyiv’s Atlas Weekend festival, fulfills a lifelong dream for Heil, a longtime fan of the band.
