Florida blackened doom band WORM have taken over KEXP’s renowned In-Studio series with a sinister new live performance, arriving ahead of the band’s upcoming North American tour with CRADLE OF FILTH.
The session follows WORM’s sold-out Total Possession of America tour and arrives as the band continues supporting its acclaimed album Necropalace, out now via Century Media Records.
The KEXP performance puts WORM’s blend of black metal, doom and classic heavy metal on full display, drawing from influences ranging from symphonic black metal of the ’90s to the technicality and guitar-driven excess of ’80s shred.
That combination remains central to Necropalace, an album that pushes WORM’s increasingly elaborate approach to extreme metal into darker and more theatrical territory. Built around lush atmospheres, towering riffs and an intentionally archaic aesthetic, the record finds the band looking deep into metal’s past while continuing to carve out a sound of its own.
Following their recent headlining run, WORM will return to the road beginning September 29 in San Diego alongside CRADLE OF FILTH. The North American trek runs through October 22 in Brooklyn, with stops in Phoenix, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Boston and more.
WORM have also announced a fall UK and European tour with WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM, with each night set to showcase material from Necropalace.
