WORM Unveil New Single “Witchmoon – The Infernal Masquerade” Featuring Marty Friedman

Florida’s necromantic black/doom conjurers WORM have released “Witchmoon – The Infernal Masquerade”, the grand finale of their upcoming album Necropalace. The new single features a guest appearance from legendary guitar virtuoso Marty Friedman.

Serving as the album’s opulent closer, “Witchmoon – The Infernal Masquerade” is an epic collision of black metal, doom, death metal, 80s heavy metal, goth, neoclassical shred, and baroque textures, complete with harpsichord passages and piano arpeggios. It stands as the ultimate culmination of Necropalace’s vampiric nightmare, decadent, theatrical, and steeped in nocturnal menace.

With Necropalace, WORM continue to refine a sonic identity that draws from nearly every vital era of extreme metal. From the symphonic grandeur of ’90s black metal to the emotive precision of ’80s shred, the band expands on the promise of their acclaimed Foreverglade while pushing their sound into even more extravagant territory. Now releasing their first album for Century Media, WORM manage a rare feat: honoring the past while sounding utterly timeless.

The album inhabits a decadent world of velvet, gold, and decay—a lonely, shadow-haunted realm where time erodes flesh but not longing. Described as the soundscape to a star-lit winter night over the darkest Everglades sloughs, Necropalace is a full immersion into “nightbound maleficence,” calling to those who still carry ancient, vampiric blood.

“Witchmoon – The Infernal Masquerade” follows earlier singles “Necropalace” and “Blackheart”, which marked WORM’s first official music videos. Those short films drew heavily from ’80s and ’90s horror aesthetics and were brought to life by an accomplished team including director Norman Cabrera (Danzig, The Walking Dead), producer Maya Kay, colorist Alex Nicolaou (Drab Majesty), with guidance from Ted Nicolaou (Subspecies, TerrorVision).

Produced by Charlie Koryn (Morbid Angel) and mixed/mastered by Arthur Rizk (King Diamond, Blood Incantation, Cavalera), Necropalace arrives February 13 via Century Media.

Necropalace Tracklist:

  1. Gates to the Shadowzone (Intro)
  2. Necropalace
  3. Halls of Weeping
  4. The Night Has Fangs
  5. Dragon Dreams
  6. Blackheart
  7. Witchmoon – The Infernal Masquerade (Feat. Marty Friedman)

With this final single, WORM open the gates fully, inviting listeners into a world where death meets the deathless, and decadence reigns eternal.
