South Carolina metal/hardcore band Your Spirit Dies have released their new EP It Is Well… today via MNRK Heavy, alongside a new video for the track “Whispers In Omen.”
The band also shared a visual for the EP’s closing track, further showcasing their blend of crushing hardcore intensity, melodic metalcore dynamics, and dark atmospheric influences.

It Is Well… follows the band’s 2024 MNRK Heavy debut My Gnawing Pains Will Never Rest, a release that drew attention for its fusion of influences ranging from At The Gates, Killswitch Engage, Napalm Death, and Godflesh, while also incorporating eerie inspiration from giallo horror cinema such as The Beyond.
Critics have previously noted the band’s ability to merge nostalgic early-2000s metalcore energy with a modern, tightly produced edge, balancing raw aggression with melodic structure and emotional intensity.
Produced in collaboration with Randy Leboeuf (Boundaries, Dying Wish, The Acacia Strain, Chamber, Orthodox), the new EP reflects a more refined and focused creative direction for the band. According to guitarist and vocalist Brandon Byars, the writing process was efficient and organic, with the final versions of the songs coming together rapidly from early demo material.
“With this new material, we’ve settled into what we’ve sought for several years. The intention of Your Spirit Dies was never to be simply pastiche, but to take the influences that shaped us early on and view them through a modern lens. It’s heavy, dark, melodic, and everything that YSD should be.”
