Spanish thrash metal band ANGELUS APATRIDA have officially signed with Napalm Records, launching the next chapter of their career with the release of a brand-new single, “Cycle Of Ruin.” The track serves as the first taste of the band’s upcoming three-track EP, The Reckoning, due November 19.
Formed in 2000, ANGELUS APATRIDA have spent more than two decades establishing themselves as one of Spain’s most prominent metal exports. Along the way, the quartet have appeared at major festivals including Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Graspop and Download while earning a reputation for their relentless live performances.
Speaking about joining Napalm Records, the band comments:
“Now it’s time to turn the page! Napalm Records had been chasing us for years, and now the time has finally come. From day one, we felt their excitement, ambition and understanding of who ANGELUS APATRIDA is and where we want to go next. We’re still as hungry as ever, and it feels amazing to finally call Napalm Records our new home!”
ANGELUS APATRIDA aren’t arriving at their new label empty-handed. Their forthcoming The Reckoning EP was produced by the band, recorded by Juanan López, and mixed and mastered by longtime collaborator Zeuss.
The first offering, “Cycle Of Ruin,” delivers razor-sharp riffs, forceful vocals and driving grooves before erupting into an explosive guitar solo. According to the band, choosing the track to introduce this new era was an easy decision.
“We knew the first song of this new chapter had to make a statement, and ‘Cycle Of Ruin’ felt like the obvious choice: Fast, relentless and straight to your face, a fresh and modern take on the old-school thrash metal that has always been at the heart of this band.”
The accompanying music video matches that energy with a full-blown pool party featuring the band and their friends.
“A cycle ends. Another begins,” the band adds. “Welcome to THE RECKONING!”
The Reckoning will also feature the new track “Burn It Down” and ANGELUS APATRIDA’s furious reinterpretation of Sepultura’s “Propaganda,” which is already available digitally.
