EIVØR Unveils New Single “Verjugarðar / Walls” From Upcoming Album ‘Tungl’

Faroese singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist EIVØR has unveiled “Verjugarðar / Walls,” the latest single from her forthcoming studio album, Tungl, due October 16 via Nuclear Blast.

A dark electronic rock ballad built around cathartic soundscapes, “Verjugarðar / Walls” explores the emotional distance that can develop between two people and the paradox of creating barriers for protection that ultimately leave them isolated from one another.

“‘Verjugarðar / Walls’ is an epic and dark electronic rock ballad about two people who have lost what once bound them together behind walls of silence,” Eivør explains. “The paradox is that the walls we build to protect ourselves can also be the very walls that keep us apart.”

The track was several years in the making before finally finding its completed form.

“This is one of those songs that took me a few years to write, but when it suddenly fell into place, I just couldn’t stop singing it,” she adds.

EIVØR Looks to the Moon With Tungl

Meaning “moon” in Faroese, Tungl finds Eivør continuing the darker and more atmospheric direction established on her previous album, Enn, while venturing further into elemental and immersive territory.

Across its ten tracks, the album explores themes of navigation, transformation and renewal alongside the emotional cycles of love, loss, tenderness and heartache.

“Tungl explores the ever-changing cycles of life – its songs move between moments of tenderness and heartache, love and loss, and the emotional tides that shape us,” Eivør says. “Like the moon that inspired its title, Tungl serves as a gentle guide through life’s darker passages, illuminating the beauty, resilience, and transformation found along the way.”

The album will be available on CD, artist-exclusive Digipak and several vinyl editions, including crystal clear, white and black marbled, and transparent and black marbled variants. An artist-exclusive edition will also include a bonus 7-inch vinyl.
