Finnish melodic death and gothic metal band ENDLESS CHAIN have signed with M-Theory Audio and announced their third full-length album, Nothingness, due November 20.
Marking the beginning of the band’s partnership with the label, ENDLESS CHAIN have also released the album’s first single, “Fade to Nothingness,” alongside a new music video produced by Winter Notes Production.

One of the heaviest tracks ENDLESS CHAIN have recorded to date, “Fade to Nothingness” combines the band’s crushing melodic death metal foundation with the melancholy and atmosphere that have defined their sound.
“Although ‘Fade to Nothingness’ is one of the heaviest EC songs ever, there’s still something beautiful within it,” guitarist and founder Timo Mölsä says. “It’s a good representation of the upcoming album, and it was one of the first songs I wrote for the new album.”
Vocalist Aki Salonen describes the song as confronting the realization that something has reached a point beyond repair.
“The story behind the song is pretty complex,” Salonen explains. “It’s about that ‘darkest hour’ when you finally admit to yourself that things went too far a long time ago, and no amount of fighting is going to bring that past back. It could be about relationships, serious illness, death, you name it. In the end, it’s up to the listener which perspective eases their mind the most.”
Nothingness Arrives November 20
Set for worldwide release through M-Theory Audio, Nothingness promises to push ENDLESS CHAIN’s combination of melancholic atmosphere, aggression and emotionally driven songwriting further.
The signing also brings the band full circle with M-Theory Audio. Label founder Marco Barbieri revealed that he previously considered releasing ENDLESS CHAIN’s 2024 sophomore album, Agony, but ultimately passed on the opportunity — a decision he later regretted after hearing the completed record.
“Hearing the finished album, I instantly knew I’d made a mistake,” Barbieri says. “Endless Chain’s unique mix of dark aggression and poignant emotion resonated instantly. I’m thrilled they gave us another chance with their third album—a powerhouse release that takes their evocative, expressive songwriting to a whole new level.”
“We’re incredibly excited to join the M-Theory Audio family,” Mölsä adds. “Many years of dedicated and patient work have led us to this moment. We would like to sincerely thank Marco Barbieri and the entire M-Theory Audio team for believing in our band and our music. We can’t wait to share the new album with the world.”
Nothingness will be available digitally as well as on Digipak CD and a limited edition of 300 hardwood-colored vinyl copies. Pre-order
Founded by guitarist and primary songwriter Timo Mölsä, ENDLESS CHAIN began as a personal creative outlet before developing into a full-fledged Finnish metal band blending melodic death metal with gothic melancholy and atmospheric textures.
The band released their debut album, Forthcoming Past, in 2021 before returning with Agony in 2024. Their sophomore record expanded upon the group’s atmospheric foundations with progressive elements and gothic structures, while highlighting the contrast between Aki Salonen’s harsh growls and Ville Hovi’s clean vocals.
With Nothingness, ENDLESS CHAIN enter their next chapter with a lineup featuring Salonen and Hovi on vocals, Mölsä and Aleksanteri Kuosa on guitars, Kuosa handling bass, and Korpiklaani drummer Samuli Mikkonen behind the kit.
