German power metal veterans BRAINSTORM have officially announced their upcoming studio album, Nightfall, which is scheduled for release in Spring 2027 via Reigning Phoenix Music.
Serving as the follow-up to 2025’s Plague Of Rats, the new album continues the band’s exploration of themes rooted in Indian mythology while introducing darker, more demonic elements. According to the band, Nightfall also embraces a rawer and more dynamic musical direction without losing the signature blend of heavy riffs, memorable hooks, and melodic power that has defined BRAINSTORM throughout their more than three-decade career.
Nightfall will also be the first album to feature the band’s current lineup, with bassist Danij Perl and drummer Kevin Lütolf joining longtime vocalist Andy B. Franck alongside guitarists Torsten Ihlenfeld and Milan Loncaric.
Speaking about the album, vocalist Andy B. Franck shared his enthusiasm:
“It’s been a while since you last heard from me, right? Well, buckle up — because next year sees the release of our new album, Nightfall, which takes us even deeper into the realm of Indian mythology and more demonic realms.
Nightfall brings you to a world of beauty and grace, but also of death and despair. I’m so excited and can’t wait to drag you all down into these abysses with me. I’m really keen to bring more of that raw, primal power back into the traditional sound. The result is going to blow your minds, and with my friend Seeb at the mixing desk, we can look forward to an awesome metal album in the spring of ’27.”
The album is being mixed by Sebastian “Seeb” Levermann of ORDEN OGAN, with additional details—including the first single and further album information—expected to be revealed in the coming months.
