Swiss black metallers ERNTE have released “Ritval Pyre”, the second track to be revealed from their forthcoming fourth full-length, Der schwarzen Flamme Vermächtnis, due out February 13th via Purity Through Fire.
The project is led by Häxär (also of HÄXÄR), who handles songwriting, guitars, recording, and mixing, alongside Askahex (vocals, bass, violin), known for her work with SHEVER and ASHATAR. Together, ERNTE channel what they describe as True Helvetic Black Metal, a raw yet atmospheric approach rooted in misanthropy, anti-modern ideology, and reverence for ancient energies.
“Ritval Pyre” showcases the band’s fierce, war-driven direction on the new album, blending blistering tempos with layered atmosphere and melodic depth. While embracing a back-to-the-roots black metal spirit, Der schwarzen Flamme Vermächtnis also carves out space for nuance and dynamics, drawing aesthetic parallels to early Dødheimsgard and Manes as well as turn-of-the-millennium French black metal, yet firmly retaining ERNTE’s own songwriting identity.
The band states the album stands as “an oath to the old ways… values forged in fire and blood”, rejecting modernity in favor of nature, primal force, and the consuming Black Flame.
