Swedish folk metal pioneers FEJD have released the title track from their forthcoming fifth full-length album, Nifelheim, which is scheduled for release on August 21, 2026, via Black Lodge / Sound Pollution. The new single arrives alongside an official lyric video, offering fans an early glimpse into the band’s next chapter.
The title track, “Nifelheim,” draws inspiration from the icy realm of the dead in Norse mythology, immersing listeners in a landscape of ancient legends, mysticism, and Nordic melancholy. Blending traditional Scandinavian folk instrumentation with heavy metal, FEJD continue to refine the distinctive sound that has defined their career.
Known for combining authentic Nordic folk traditions with the power of modern metal, the band creates a rich musical atmosphere through the use of instruments such as the bouzouki and moraharpa alongside crushing riffs and dynamic arrangements. Nifelheim aims to build upon that foundation, promising one of the group’s most ambitious releases to date.

The album will feature eight tracks:
- Nifelheim
- Nidhögg
- Edsvuren
- Älvagrimmar
- Sköldborg
- Einar Blå
- Strilja
- Svarta Tjärn
FEJD features:
- Patrik Rimmerfors – lead vocals, bouzouki
- Niklas Rimmerfors – moraharpa (keyed fiddle)
- Esko Salow – drums
- Lennart Specht – keyboards
- Thomas Antonsson – bass
