Fimbul Winter have unveiled their powerful new single, “Crowned In Ash”, continuing the band’s evolution following their 2025 debut EP, What Once Was. Blending melodic aggression, atmospheric textures, and energy, the track further cements the group’s commitment to revitalizing classic Swedish melodic death metal with a modern edge.
Formed by former members of Amon Amarth — including founding members Niko Kaukinen and Anders Biazzi — alongside vocalist Clint Williams, the band draws upon decades of experience within the genre they helped shape. According to the band, “There was never a question of what we should sound like, we’ve been shaping this sound/genre for decades, this is in our DNA.”
“Crowned In Ash” delivers driving rhythms, soaring melodic leads, and crushing vocal performances while balancing intensity with dynamic, memorable songwriting. The single was recorded at Studio Fluff Vasteras and Witching Hour Audio, with mixing and mastering handled by Marko Tervonen at Studio-MT. Artwork for the release was created by Katarzyna Urbanek.
