Hole Dweller Releases Hole in One Single

American dungeon synth project Hole Dweller, a solo endeavor by Tim Rowland from Athens, Georgia, formed in 2019, has released the single Hole in One on July 17, 2025, via Dungeons Deep Records.

Inspired by the tale of Bandobras “Bullroarer” Took, who in T.A. 2747 beheaded goblin king Golfimbul during the Battle of Greenfields, sending the head 100 yards into a rabbit hole—thus inventing golf in the Shire—the track captures Jamwine Fiddleham’s struggles to master the game in the Greenfields.

The single, streaming on all major platforms including Bandcamp, marks the debut of Rowland’s EleOcto mandolin by Northfield Instruments, paired with signature lo-fi synth tones, crafting a pastoral, hobbit-core sound blending dungeon synth, newgrass, and ambient folk.

Described by Bandcamp Daily as a “nostalgic escape,” it previews Hole Dweller’s evolving live sound for performances planned later in 2025. Vinyl 7 inch, shirts, and hats are available at dungeonsdeep.com or dungeonsdeeprecords.bandcamp.com/merch.
