Ukrainian modern metal band IGNEA has unveiled its crushing new single, “Harmony Manufactured,” featuring guest vocals from HIRAES frontwoman Britta Görtz. The track arrives alongside an official music video, offering one final glimpse into the band’s upcoming studio album, Monumental, set for release this Friday, October 23, 2026, via Napalm Records.

Blending aggressive riffs, industrial influences, and atmospheric melodies, “Harmony Manufactured” showcases another dimension of IGNEA’s evolving sound. The collaboration brings together the powerful voices of Helle Bohdanova and Britta Görtz, whose contrasting vocal styles create an intense combination of melody and extreme metal aggression.

Görtz, who recently stepped in as an interim vocalist for HEAVEN SHALL BURN, adds another layer of intensity to the track, complementing Bohdanova’s dynamic performance.

Industrial design meets extreme metal

Inspired by the Bauhaus movement and its philosophy of combining art, craftsmanship, and technology, “Harmony Manufactured” explores the relationship between functionality, beauty, and human creativity.

The song’s mechanical intensity reflects the industrial aesthetics of Bauhaus architecture, while its melodic elements capture the elegance and nostalgia associated with timeless design.

Bohdanova explains the inspiration behind the track:

“The song ‘Harmony Manufactured’ is a tribute to industrial design, the Bauhaus school, and the birth of technical aesthetics, celebrating objects in which function and beauty coexist perfectly. The Bauhaus believed in the unity of art, craft, and technology, and that well-made things shouldn’t be a privilege but part of everyday life.”

She continues:

“In the video, though, it is the human body that is treated as the peak of design. After all, it is humans who carry the most beauty and enduring memory. We’re extremely grateful to have Britta as a guest on ‘Harmony Manufactured.’ Her voice is the technical aesthetics of extreme vocals, and she has elevated this song enormously. I hope we’ll be able to perform it live together someday.”

The accompanying music video further develops the song’s artistic concept, placing the human body at the center of its exploration of design, beauty, and memory.

For Görtz, the collaboration was a natural extension of her mutual admiration for Bohdanova and IGNEA’s creative vision.

“Helle and I have a lot of mutual respect and appreciation for each other, so joining forces on a song felt like a very natural thing to do,” Görtz shares.

“I love the strong artistic vision that she and IGNEA brought to ‘Harmony Manufactured,’ especially the way they explore the themes of nostalgia and Bauhaus through their music. It’s always inspiring to work with artists who have such a clear creative identity, and it was a pleasure to become part of their musical world for this song.”

The vocalist also highlighted the significance of Bohdanova traveling from Ukraine to Hannover, Germany, for the music video shoot.

Monumental: Nostalgia for a future that never arrived

Following their 2023 album Dreams of Lands Unseen, IGNEA returns with Monumental, a nine-track exploration of nostalgia, memory, and unrealized futures.

The album draws heavily from modernist architecture, retrofuturism, industrial design, and the remnants of once-ambitious visions of progress.

Beyond its conceptual themes, Monumental carries particular significance for the Ukrainian musicians. It marks the second full-length album the band has written during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Much of the recording took place during the winter of 2025–2026 in Kyiv, where freezing temperatures and prolonged power outages created challenging conditions for the band.

Reflecting on the album’s central themes, Bohdanova explains:

“Back in the 17th century, nostalgia was considered a deadly disease—and in many ways, it still is. It’s a universal feeling experienced by every human being, pulling us toward a past that felt gentler than it truly was, especially during the bitter moments of the present.”

She adds:

“Much of this album was inspired by modernist architecture—concrete giants built to signal progress and a brighter future, now slowly decaying. They’ve become a sort of memory box: monuments to unrealized dreams, where the future that was once imagined never arrived, yet continues to echo through the ruins and bright mosaics.”

Musically, Monumental combines technical metal riffs, industrial textures, atmospheric passages, and expansive choruses. The record moves between aggressive intensity and reflective melancholy, mirroring the emotional complexity of nostalgia.

The album’s nine compositions explore everything from Cold War-era dreams of space exploration to abandoned architectural landmarks and the enduring weight of personal and collective memories.

All lyrics were written by Bohdanova, while keyboardist Yevhenii Zhytniuk composed the music with additional contributions from the vocalist.

Mixing and mastering were handled by Grammy-nominated producer Jacob Hansen, whose credits include VOLBEAT, AMON AMARTH, ARCH ENEMY, EPICA, and DELAIN.
