SERIOUS BLACK have announced their new studio album, Keeper Of The Light, set for release on January 29, 2027, via PERCEPTION – A Division of Reigning Phoenix Music. Alongside the announcement, the power metal band has unveiled the album’s first single, “Last Man Standing,” accompanied by an official music video.
The upcoming release marks the next chapter for SERIOUS BLACK, continuing the band’s blend of melodies, driving rhythms, heavy guitar riffs, and the distinctive vocals of Nikola Mijic. Produced by Mario Lochert and Bob Katsionis, Keeper Of The Light sees the group returning to the classic power metal sound that defined its early years.
According to bassist Mario Lochert, “Last Man Standing” is an anthem about perseverance, self-confidence, and remaining committed to one’s goals despite criticism and adversity. The track serves as the first preview of an album that emphasizes melody, energy, and traditional power metal influences.
Lochert also explained that the band’s stylistic direction has naturally evolved over recent releases, with Vengeance Is Mine and Rise Of Akhenaton laying the groundwork for a full return to their roots. He also praised vocalist Nikola Mijic, whose expressive performances have helped shape the band’s modern sound over the past five years.
Since forming, SERIOUS BLACK have become one of modern power metal’s prominent acts, earning multiple charting albums and performing more than 200 concerts worldwide. Keeper Of The Light aims to build on that legacy while delivering a renewed focus on the band’s signature combination of memorable choruses, melodic songwriting, and energetic performances.

In support of the album, SERIOUS BLACK will embark on an extensive European tour beginning in January 2027 alongside RHAPSODY OF FIRE. The trek will span Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Belgium, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic, with the final run of German and Belgian dates featuring SERIOUS BLACK as headliners.
