Colorado power-metal band Siege Perilous have released the official music video for “Becoming the Dragon”, the climactic title track from their upcoming concept album of the same name, set for release on March 27, 2026. Featuring epic guest performances from Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance), the album is a narrative-driven journey through destiny, defiance, and transformation.
The video captures the protagonist’s pivotal moment of metamorphosis, embracing destiny, defying cosmic fate, and ascending into mythic power. The track arrives following the success of the first single, “As the Dragon Falls” (feat. Fabio Lione), and showcases the band’s evolution toward cinematic, orchestral, and emotionally charged power metal.
Vocalist Shaughnessy McDaniel comments:
“‘Becoming the Dragon’ forms the critical climax of our story. It’s about defying fate, unlocking inner power, and embracing transformation. This song embodies the moment our hero ascends to true strength, and we believe the track captures that epic metamorphosis perfectly.”
The full album is a ten-chapter concept record following the Child of Prophecy through destiny, denial, destruction, and transcendence. Blending classic heavy metal roots with modern symphonic power metal, the band draws inspiration from Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Iron Maiden, Avantasia, and Sabaton.
McDaniel adds:
“Creating a massive, sweeping power-metal epic has been a dream since before the band formed. Having Fabio and Kristin contribute—artists who inspired us long before Siege Perilous existed—is beyond what we imagined when we began this project four years ago.”
Forged in Colorado’s fantasy-driven LARP community, Siege Perilous built their lineup after being inspired by an Unleash the Archers show in 2021. The band combines epic narratives, cinematic arrangements, and theatrical live performances to craft immersive, story-driven metal.
