Swedish power metal band TUNGSTEN have released their uplifting new single, “Sunshine Of Fall,” offering another preview of their forthcoming fifth studio album, Ashes, set for release on October 9 via PERCEPTION – A Division Of Reigning Phoenix Music.
Following the previously released singles “Joker” and “The North Will Rise,” featuring Tony Kakko of SONATA ARCTICA, the latest track highlights another side of the band’s evolving sound. Blending soaring melodies, powerful hooks, and modern production, “Sunshine Of Fall” captures the balance of melody and heaviness that has become a defining characteristic of TUNGSTEN.
Bassist and keyboardist Karl Johansson explained the inspiration behind the song:
“The lyrics are inspired by autumn. I think it’s often overlooked. There’s something special about the colors, the falling leaves, and that feeling of an ending before something new begins.”
Vocalist Mike Andersson added:
“It’s one of my favorite songs on the album. The melodies came together quickly and naturally. It’s a bit lighter than some of the other tracks, but it builds into a strong chorus.”
Formed in 2016 by drummer Anders Johansson alongside his sons Nick and Karl Johansson, TUNGSTEN have steadily built a reputation within the European power metal scene through albums including We Will Rise, Tundra, Bliss, and 2024’s The Grand Inferno. Their upcoming release, Ashes, continues that momentum with eleven new tracks showcasing the band’s signature blend of melodic power metal, massive choruses, and dynamic songwriting.
The band will support the album with the Anthems of Steel Tour 2026, co-headlining alongside INDUCTION with special guests KILMARA, before embarking on a series of headline dates across Sweden and Norway later in October.
